Template talk:Research paper

Please remove "or scientific journal"

The words "research paper" are sufficient for this template. Adding "or scientific journal" introduces confusion through a cross-category comparison. A "journal" is not comparable to a "paper"; a journal contains papers. Also, "research paper" applies equally to topics within and outside the sciences. Second, the current wording is confusing. Alternatively, the wording could be changed to “research paper or scientific journal article” but I’d also support just cutting “or scientific journal” entirely. ZiggyRat (talk) 08:34, 12 July 2026 (UTC)
