Community discussion

A discussion at the administrators' noticeboard has placed Uyghur genocide and articles related to it, broadly construed, under general sanctions. 10:10, 12 June 2021 (UTC)

Amendment

As the result of a discussion on the incidents noticeboard, the scope of these general sanctions has been amended to apply to edits related to Uyghurs, Uyghur genocide, and topics that are related to Uyghurs or Uyghur genocide, all broadly construed. 06:00, 18 September 2022 (UTC)

Contentious topic (2025)

A November 2025 RfC converted the prior community-imposed discretionary sanctions into a community-designated contentious topic, effective 3 November 2025.

Pages with discretionary sanctions in effect can be tagged with {{Gs/talk notice|uyghur}} and an editnotice with {{Uyghur genocide GS editnotice}} may be created. To alert editors of a community-authorized discretionary sanction in effect, use {{subst:Gs/alert|topic=uyghur}}. To inform editors of a community sanction, use {{subst:Community sanction|sanction=|rationale=|topic=uyghur}} and if blocks are issued, {{subst:Uw-csblock}}. All individual sanctions and page restrictions must be logged below.

Enforcement

In addition to community venues (such as WP:AN or WP:ANI as appropriate), enforcement requests and appeals arising from these remedies may be submitted to the arbitration enforcement noticeboard (WP:AE).[1]
