Request for removal of irrelevant article from the WikiProject Turkey
[edit]The notice "This article has been rated as Mid-importance on the project's importance scale." has been added to the Talk page of the article Victorian Turkish baths. I suggest the article is of no importance, or even relevance, to Turkey or any of the subject areas it covers. In an article of 13,655 words, the word 'Turkey' appears twice as an en passant geographical reference. I think this could not have been included by any person who has read the article, but was perhaps included by a computer confused by the adjectival phrase 'Victorian Turkish'. How do I go about having it removed? Many thanks for any help you can provide. Ishpoloni (talk) 23:24, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
For some reason there is no minus sign before the categories as there is elsewhere. How can I remove this category? Ishpoloni (talk) 09:12, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
- You should go to the talk page of the article and remove the corresponding template. Be prepared to discuss if reverted. Ymblanter (talk) 20:41, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you. Ishpoloni (talk) 22:03, 19 April 2026 (UTC)

help cleaning up some moves
[edit]Hi, we just had a little spree of move vandalism of Turkey-related articles after Apseydemgil (talk · contribs) decided to burn out in flames. I think we've got the worst of it - he seems to have escalated from recieving negative feedback about some good faith if over-enthusiastic spelling variant renames to the vandalism, but I don't speak Turkish and it would be good if someone could get some eyes on it and confirm that there's no sneaky profanity etc. Thanks, Morwen (talk) 23:40, 17 May 2026 (UTC)

The article Bestâmi Yazgan has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Tagged for notability concerns for almost 12 years. No other language has a reliably sourced article from which to translate. Poorly sourced BLP about a high school teacher and amateur composer. Created by a blocked sock.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion based on established criteria.
If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion of the article at any time. Bearian (talk) 20:16, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
- I tried to expand the article, but there is still quite a lot of work to do, e.g. he has published more than 100 books. Maybe some of his notable poems should be mentioned. Arved (talk) 08:52, 10 June 2026 (UTC)

The article Ercan Akbay has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Tagged for notability concerns for 11 years. No other language has a reliably sourced article from which to translate. Poorly sourced BLP. Created by SPA with 5 edits. Was part of an edit war in 2011 (probably involving the subject himself based on circumstantial evidence), and a cleanup in 2018, but still only has one source, which is unacceptable.

The page Abbe Kıvrık has been proposed for deletion, as it matches an established pattern of AI-generated content.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice. In this case, you take responsibility for the content, and the onus is on you to achieve consensus for its inclusion. You must remove or rewrite any generated content, and all content and its sources must be closely reviewed, and reworked as needed, to ensure that it complies with polices and guidelines. This may involve checking that the cited sources support the content and are reliable, determining whether the content is due for inclusion, and rewriting the content in your own words to revise the tone and resolve possible copyright violations.
If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, and you intend to review and rework it, you may request undeletion of the page at any time. Bearian (talk) 18:20, 10 June 2026 (UTC)

The article 2001 sex strike for running water has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Hey WikiProject Turkey, the Developing Countries WikiContest is back for a third year, and sign-ups are now open! The contest will run from 1 July to 30 September, and the objective remains the same: improve as many articles relating to developing countries as you can to help fight systemic bias on Wikipedia.
Thanks to everyone who answered the call for coordinators, and please welcome the new faces on the coordinator team: the 2024 Gold Belt Buckle winner Generalissima (talk · contribs); and the record-holder for most India-related submissions in 2024, Magentic Manifestations (talk · contribs)! Following feedback from last year, adjustments have been made to the scoring rules; discussion can be found on the contest talk page.
If you have any questions, please leave a message on the contest talk page or contact one of the coordinators: Arconning (talk · contribs), Generalissima (talk · contribs), Magentic Manifestations (talk · contribs), sawyer777 (talk · contribs), or TechnoSquirrel69 (talk · contribs).
