Rani

Hi there, my dear friend. I think you restored by mistake an unreliable source on Rani Mukerji's page. First, we can't tell it's actually referring to her. Secondly, many names are registered with fathers' names in them, but we don't usually adopt this local tradition here. Maybe we should start a discussion on it in case we want to use it. I think we should rather use reliable third-party sources, and not leaked official details which may actually be against WP:BLP rules. Please let me know if you insist on having this source back on the article. I've removed it but I'm ready to restore it if you think it's relevant. ShahidTalk2me 23:59, 15 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Shshshsh: Hi bud, yesterday I left the article open and got busy. And when I saved it after a few hours, it got published without any edit conflict error (likely because my edit was treated as a new revision). Hence, I didn't notice your reversion. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:14, 16 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

If you have a chance can you take a look at all the edits to.....

@Moxy: The two new users seem to be working in tandem. I've opened an SPI case here (a notable sockfarm with similar haplogroup map related edits and interests). Also, usage of such maps is problematic. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:38, 20 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Infobox in West Bengal

Since we had this discussion, there has been no consensus reached or a move made in the article for adding Howrah Bridge in the infobox. I had brought this discussion to the now blocked user Ku423winz1's talk page and even WP:CR but that didn't help closing it.

As all the discussion pages have been tried to no avail, I wanted to ask—Should I make the changes (add Howrah Bridge in infobox) as per the unreached consensus or take it to WP:DRN or even WP:RFC? Additionally should the current montage be kept or changed to the 8 image original montage (diff) that has been discussed in that talk section? Sddarealone (talk) 16:12, 16 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Sddarealone: No objection from my side. You may readd the Howrah Bridge. The current montage has too many images (16). You could restore some from the original while keeping a few from the current one, but the total number should not exceed 10 in my opinion. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 21:25, 16 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for your kind understanding. Just now, I updated the infobox in the article with your suggestions while also following the previous discussions. Sddarealone (talk) 09:37, 17 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

The states/UTs of India having too many images in IB / body

I did a deepdive on addition of images in Indian state and UT articles which didn't have a WP:CONSENSUS and also didn't follow WP:IBI. The ones which did have any discussion and were fixed are namely Andhra Pradesh, Bihar and recently West Bengal. Here is the list of other states/UTs which have many images in infobox/body:

The respective articles above in last few months had major updates to the no. of images and in some images were changed itself for which I added Template:Overillustration risk editnotice. In Gujarat, too many photos template was added as I saw many images clumped in fairs section. Update - Seems to be fixed now; that was quick.

I want to also state that for most articles, I saw these revisions to be the point of overillustration:

  1. Arunachal Pradesh - diff
  2. Goa - diff
  3. Haryana - diff
  4. Chattisgarh - diff
  5. Assam - diff
  6. Telangana - diff
  7. Madhya Pradesh - diff

As I'm not aware of all these states' culture or architecture, I'm not making the changes myself except where I did earlier (West Bengal). Tagging @Arjayay as they seem to be the other editor working on these articles. You may post this issue in WikiProjects such as WP:INDIA where other editors may get involved to speed-up the fixes. Thanks. Sddarealone (talk) 17:41, 17 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Have a look

In the past decade long pattern, countless IPs and multiple user accounts vandalised the article Bishnupriya Manipuri, based on which a case Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Manipuri was once opened, which was closed because of the fact that most of the then suspected people were stale for a long time. However in the last few years (2023-2026), with the recently re-active vandalism activities in the article, by numerous user accounts (and a plethora of IPs) named BhartiyaGraminUdyog, Neztech, User84845, Bikramjit sinha28, Gopimohan sinha, Arnab Sashi, Krishna82as, RRajKkumar, Dipita Sinha (whose sole edits or majority of edits are in the article itself only), many of whose edits were reverted and warned (in their talk pages) by me, you, @Worldbruce, @Arjayay, among other editors, I think we need to have a look at the case of sock puppetry (or meat puppetry) once again. Many of them show clear signs of WP:QUACK. Haoreima (talk) 21:18, 17 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Just for information.

The Hindustan Times article you sourced for Don 3 in Kriti Sanon’s filmography is gone. It’s not showing anymore (i.e. 410 gone).[1]

I checked but unfortunately there is no archive of this article on archive.org.

Although, I could find a similar article from December 2025 by HT.[2]

Thank you. 💜 Honeybrowneyes (talk) 10:42, 29 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Honeybrowneyes: Thanks for pointing that out. I've updated the URL. Either they moved the extension from .htm to .html, or I missed the 'l'. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:42, 29 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
